...or the beauty and the beast

Time is runnig and i`ve got to choose an university to apply for my scholarship. And after searching the net i found that TOKIO DAIGAKU...

......and TOKIO GEIJUTSU DAIGAKU....

.....are to me the most challenging options.

Both, according to google almighty, known to be the best in Japan, TADAI in every study field they teach, and GAIDAI in its specialty that is art (and of course, architecture), but also to be extremely difficult to get access to. And that`s fine for me, after all why bother to go to Japan if not to study in the very best of their daigaku?

I named this post “the beauty and the beast” not without a reason, and that is much related with the scale of the logos you see here (no larger picture was to be found for the geidai logo in 27 pages of google search).

TODAI is a beast in all its meaning; it counts with five huge campuses in Tokyo, a staff of 4.191 members, 28.000 students (2.100 from overseas), 2 hospitals and a list of ex-alumni in which princesses, prime ministers, Nobel prices, and other emblematic celebrities are to be found.

The fragile GEIDAI beauty, on the contrary, has only a small infrastructure and counts a small number of students (2.091, of which from overseas surely are only a handful). Nevertheless is also known to be the most prestigious in its field; with its own celebrities in the world of art.

So, this is my personal challenge. Am I going to be “revengeful ghost*” enough to get me a place in one of these two?

We`ll see.

*from hagakure: “even if a samurai`s head would have been suddenly cut off, he should still be able to perform one more action with certainty. When one becomes like a revegeful ghost, and shows great determination thou his head is cut off he should not die"
